This is the first in our occasional series of curated TV and film recommendations designed to entertain you whilst at the same time whet your appetite for travels yet to come.  All are set in some of the most inspiring and evocative destinations in the world. Enjoy!
 

Pose - TV, Netflix

This American drama television series is about New York City's African-American and Latino LGBTQ and gender-non-conforming ballroom culture scene. It is set in the 1980s and, in the second season, early 1990s and reflects New York as enticing, thrilling and the epi-centre of cool. If this inspires you this is one of our favourite properties in NY, The New York EDITION 

Broadchurch - TV, Amazon Prime

This is a gripping murder drama set along the beautiful English Jurassic Coast, Dorset. If you are inspired by the Dorset countryside why not check this hotel out?  

Top of the Lake - TV, Netflix

This is filmed in stunning Queenstown, New Zealand - a detective investigates the disappearance of a 12-year-old schoolgirl in a small town and gradually finds herself getting obsessed with the case. This itinerary showcases the best of New Zealand's South Island. 

Outlander - TV, Amazon Prime

After seeing her husband return from the Second World War, Claire Randall and her husband go on a second honeymoon only for Claire to fall through time back to 1740s Scotland. Soon the people of 1743 Scotland become suspicious of her and think she might be an English spy. This showcases the stunning Scottish scenery. This is one of our favourite Scottish properties, Gleneagles.

Dr Zhivago - Film, Amazon Prime

This is an absolutely classic romantic film set in Russia between the years prior to World War I and the Russian Civil War of 1918–1922. Incredibly evocative it will inspire you to visit, have a look at this itinerary to inspire your next trip!

Big Little Lies - TV, Amazon Prime

Big Little Lies delves under the scenic underbelly of a group of women in Big Sur, California. The setting and music are beautiful and incredibly evocative. Despite the sometimes dark story it will make you want to drive the Californian coast in a convertible. We love this specially curated road trip. 

Lillyhammer - TV, Netflix

This unique drama is a television series about a former New York-based gangster named Frank "The Fixer" Tagliano who is trying to start a new life in isolated Lillehammer, Norway. Investigate this itinerary for further inspiration on your next trip to the fjords.
