Kick your trip off in southern Satemwa, where you’ll explore the luscious green hills of southern Malawi’s ancient tea estates. From here, you’ll travel up to Zomba, where the air is cooler, and the views unmissable. After your adventures through the wilderness, head towards the Mozambique border for a three night stay in Liwonde. With days spend on a game drive or a boat safari, Liwonde National Park offers beautiful scenery all year round, as well as the best bird watching in southern Africa. Huntingdon House is charming, personable, and the perfect welcome to Malawi. Set deep in the bright green hills of Satemwa, it is surrounded by tea plantations that look as if they go on forever. The epitome of Malawian old colonialism, Huntington House is on the doorstep on some of the country’s oldest tea estates, and even has a croquet set up on its immaculate lawn. After a morning spent tea tasting, explore the beauty of the surrounding landscape with a walk, or even a go mountain biking.

Zomba Forest Lodge

Continuing the theme of colonial style, Zomba Forest Lodge is as atmospheric as it is cosy. Tucked away and far off the grid, it is nestled in twenty acres of woodland, which is home to monkeys, antelope and a host of birds. Whether you spend your days hiking up to Zomba Plateau, or relaxing to the sounds of the surrounding wildlife, Zomba Forest Lodge encourages leisure in nature.

Mvuu Lodge

Providing the ultimate authentic safari experience, Mvuu Lodge sits on the south of Lake Malawi and looks out onto the Shire River. Where animals roam freely, and vegetation is lush and untouched, Mvuu Lodge provides the perfect safari stay. The raised thatch lounge and bar offer unbeatable views of bathing hippos, and the open-fronted dining room leads you directly into the heart of the wilderness.
